PTA Free Program

The PTA Free Program is intended for students, researchers, software developers and independent security consultants.

We have learned that the most effective and efficient use of the Practical Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment tool comes about when the process is facilitated by someone well-versed in the PTA methodology. In our experience in many different contexts, teams rapidly learn how to assess the risk in their systems and define practical mitigation plans when an independent consultant assists them. Consequently, we offer the PTA Professional Edition Risk Assessment tool for free and make it available to the community of security analysts world-wide.

The PTA Professional Edition trial version you downloaded, enables you to use the software for 30 days. If you wish to extend the usage period, you may submit your request to participate in PTA Free Program by sending us an email with the following registration details:

8) "User Code 1" and "User Code 2":

The “User Code 1” and “User Code 2” are the numbers displayed in the “Registration” dialog box that appears when starting PTA. (Press the "Yes" button in the "PTA Evaluation" dialog when asked if you would like to extend the usage period).

As soon as we get the User Code numbers we’ll send you back an email with the appropriate Registration Keys that extend the usage period for the whole year!

Scope of use

As a member of PTA Free Program you may use, free-of-charge, a single instance of PTA Professional Edition for your own professional aims. There is no limit to the number of risk assessment projects you can support. If you wish to install PTA on several workstations in your company and use it as part of your organization / department workload or if you wish to install it at your clients' sites, you may have a look at our free PTA Qualified Partner Program that enables consulting companies to integrate Practical Threat Analysis methodology and tools in their risk analysis professional services.

Our Mission

PTA is free-of-charge for individuals (students, researchers, consultants, analysts etc.) - it is our contribution to the security community. PTA can be downloaded, installed and operate within minutes. We believe that high availability of a calculative practical threat analysis methodology and risk assessment tool will have positive impact on the numerous systems that are responsible for the quality of our life by enabling consultants and engineers to provide better/safer systems. We wish to encourage our users to publish their threat models considerations, share their experience with the community, enhance the source base of Practical Threat Analysis expertise and threat models and make it available to the wide community of engineers and security analysts world-wide.
